Have you taken any cake decorating classes? My wife took one at Michaels and was thinking of taking another one at the local community college.
Have you learned via trial and error or by getting instruction? |

I took the two courses at JoAnn (probably the same as they have at Michael's), and I really liked them. I learn that sort of thing best when I have someone who can show me and guide my hands if necessary. I think if I'd gone by trial and error, I'd have given up in frustration pretty quickly.

I'm still relatively new, but I learned by trial and error. It's not that bad, but I would love to take some classes since I'm pretty bad at working with fondant. How much do they usually cost ay Michael's?

I'm not sure what the costs are for classes at independent shops, but for my Wilton classes at Joann, I paid around $40-$50, and I think Michael's and Hobby Lobby are comparable. They sometimes have coupons and "class fair" days where you can get a certain percent off the regular class price. Then each level has its own course kit, and usually the store gives you something like 20% off the regular price if you show you're enrolled in the class.
